I’m finally back. After my four days at Emerald City Comicon in Seattle and another seven days at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco (followed by a Lyft ride that seemed to take a whole ‘nother day) I’m finally settled back at home. On my trip I got familiar with Idol Janshi Suchie-Pai III Remix, which was a surprisingly decent experience, and reacquainted myself Yakuman DS, or “Mario Mahjong” as everyone else calls it.

Immediately upon arriving at my house I set my bags down, grabbed my keys, and was back out the door to pick up something I’ve been wanting for a number of years, but never had the means to attain: an NEC PC Engine CD, complete-in-box. Not that I wanted the box, but due to the circumstances, it was part of the deal. Now I can play all the PC Engine and PC Engine CD games that have been sitting on my shelf for the past couple of years. Apparently they’re almost exclusively strip mahjong games with actual nudity, so… that’s a thing… 《゚Д゚》

I haven’t had a chance to test out the CD drive yet, but the core console reads HuCard games without any issue at all, and the controller feels surprisingly nice. I just need to pop in a CD to make sure that side of things work and give it a little scrub. It even came with a carrying case, which is neat. In that respect it’s kind of like a GameCube.

That’s pretty much it. Just updating to say that I should hopefully have more content updates soon. At least, that’s the plan, since I have a month before I’m out of the country again with work. Until then, here’s a few photos from my trip to San Francisco.
